Winemaker Chuck Ortman Notes
We’ll bet you haven’t had a Chardonnay that surprises you in a while. If that’s the case, this wine’s for you. This crisp and bright Chablis style wine is fermented completely in stainless steel tanks to preserve favors of pineapple, guava, lime, and grapefruit. Yet it’s far from being a simple white; a little time sur lies adds a richness and complexity that most stainless steel aged Chards just don’t have. It’s a treat poolside all on its own or with light appetizers such as barbecued shrimp or pork wontons (don’t forget the dipping sauce!), or allow the acidity to cut through as you indulge in a rich, creamy bowl of mac and cheese.
