Winemaker Tom Westberg Notes

Our 2008 Pinot Noir opens with fragrant rose petal and toasted oak aromas lifted by bright
cherry and ripe plum. Across the palate, the tantalizing cherry-berry flavors continue, balanced
by good acidity and round, well-integrated tannins. The supple texture and smooth,
approachable style pair well with a variety of foods, such as roasted pork tenderloin or stuffed
guinea hen.
We harvested the grapes in the cool hours of morning when the fruit was at its lowest temperature and the flavors and aromas were in perfect balance. The grapes were then gently destemmed and placed whole berry into stainless steel for a long, cool fermentation to retain the juicy brightness and build good color and tannin structure. We used mostly Fr ...more... ench barrels for aging, imparting a touch of oak to the final profile.
