Winemaker Cary Gott Notes

This vintage is made from 100% estate-grown Pinot Noir that is sustainable farmed in the Russian River Valley Appellation. The hand-picked fruit was carefully selected and night-harvested at the exact moment when the fruit reached the right maturity and acid levels to craft an elegant style of Pinot Noir. The grapes were delivered to Punchdown Cellars on the morning of August 31, 2017.
The fruit was destemmed and put in an open-top tank to ferment on the skins. The grapes were cold-soaked for several days and then punched-down twice a day throughout the fermentation process. After fermentation, the grapes were pressed and the wine was barreled in 30% new French oak and 70% neutral French oak for 15 months. This Pinot Noir is a combinatio ...more... n of barrels from three different blocks on the Bricoleur Estate Vineyards. The Pinot Noir was bottled on November 19, 2018.
Medium ruby in color. Aromas of cranberry, deep raspberry, and Santa Rosa plum are woven with top-notes of anise and coastal redwood spice. The palate is perfectly balanced with flavors of cherry and peach pith, broad tannins and textures of stone fruit flesh. These flavors complement the bright acidity, which leads into a long, fresh finish.
