Winemaker Ed Kurtzman Notes

Christmas spice leads into deep, brooding wild raspberry and lingonberry scents on the nose. With the new Cortada Alta Vineyard fruit in the mix in a bigger way, there is also a darker berry aspect to the aromas as well. This wine is reminiscent of a young Vosne Romanée. Vibrant fruit is balanced with a silky smooth, velvety texture and fine acidity on the palate. Oak intensity, vanilla cream and spice build for a long, deep finish. This 2017 is already drinking well, and should continue to improve through at least 2025.
