We’ve enjoyed using the Gallaway Zinfandel from Dry Creek Valley for many years. Brian called us up just before harvest to offer us some extra fruit and we gladly accepted. Then another buddy of mine called me up and asked if I wouldn't mind taking his fruit too; however his vineyard was located in Alexander Valley.
At first we kept the two lots separate, but once fermentation was completed in the barrel, we decided to do a blending trial and combined both lots in a glass. OMG - it was one of the best lots of wine in our house and we exclaimed that the wine was a rock star... AC/DC was created. OK, so it's really AV/DC... but you get the idea!
Tasting Notes: Medium bodied and boysenberry and raspberry flavors with hints of black pep
