Winemaker Jon Phillips Notes

I’ve been friends with grape grower Brian Gallaway, almost as long as I’ve lived in Sonoma County. Brian’s ranch is located just outside the town of Healdsburg on West Dry Creek Road; the grapes are grown on an eastern facing hillside vineyard along the western slope of the Dry Creek Valley, producing a distinctive wine, rich with warm berry flavors.
Tasting Notes:
Aged in French oak barrels, the 2013 vintage started out in 50% new wood. This allowed us to create a wine that has greater complexity and notes of mocha, vanilla and spice. You’ll find concentrated berry flavors of cassis, blackberry and tea, ending in a long finish. Because of four years in the barrel, this wine has smooth, long tannin's allowing you to enjoy now o ...more... r lay it down for more aging.
