Winemaker Kevin Bersofsky Notes
The 2016 Silver and Gold Chardonnay is another delicate offering off Black Knight Vineyards. 2016 was
an especially cool year on this vineyard with this chardonnay being the very last block picked by the
winery once again. Primarily clone 4, the tropical notes fight their way through the racy acidity and
minerality. When enjoyed closer to room temperature, wisps of pineapple can be found with a hint of reductiveness and char due to the Francois Freres oak. Very much burgundy on the Sonoma Coast, the 2016 Silver and Gold is the consummate food wine.
Black Knight vineyards has so many micro climates with no two offering the same soil, elevation, or
facing. Silver and Gold is harvested from the lower block that enjoys just a bit more sun ...more... and less fog than
the upper elevations of the vineyard.
