Winemaker Phil Kaplan Notes

This blend was selected by my wife Collette and confirmed in a blind trial with a group of friends as the hands-down favorite. It combines a brooding, black and dense notes from the Rancho La Vina lot, with the barn yard, earthy notes of the 667 clone from Bentrock and a core of elegant red berry fruit from La Encantada. We tried this out at one of our favorite restaurants, decanted the wine for one half hour and it was a beauty, smooth, rich flavors that paired with the main dishes that ranged from risotto to lamb chops to filets. Shout out to First & Oak restaurant in Solvang where this party happened.
