Carabella Dijon 76 Chardonnay is a blend of the two blocks on the site. Seven acres of east facing vines produce lush fruit components. This is balanced by the crisp acidity and structure from the four acres of higher elevation vines planted in thinner, stonier soils.
The 2008 vintage was defined by extended cool weather throughout October. Citrus and fig flavors, crisp acidity and minerality on the finish define this wine. Extended aging on the lees contributes a silky mouthfeel on the palate. It is barrel fermented in 100% French oak consisting of 1/6 new, with second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth fill barrels. This is an Oregon Chardonnay through and through. However, this particular vintage produced a very French tasting Chardonnay
