Winemaker Tim Borges Notes

This wine shows all the potential to be a classic Italian mainstay. Hints of sweet Black Mission fig and subtle plum, the wine offers up allspice, cinnamon and earth. A dense, dark wine, very D'Alba style with great minerality and deep, purple black color. Planted to old clone Barbera, the climate and soil in interior Mendocino County are almost identical to Alba in Piemonte where traditionally dark fruit and minerality dominate the wines. This is what great Barbera is all about.
A classic...paired with traditional hearty Northern Italian cuisine.
