Winemaker Megan McGrath Gates Notes
This varietal, uncommon to California, is a native of Tuscany and Umbria where it is normally fermented to produce light sweet wine. We have a mere four acres planted in our Los Alamos vineyard. Aromatic and complex, Malvasia Bianca is a special example of the grape species vitis vinifera made into a truly exceptional wine. Fragrant white flowers such as gardenia, summer fruits including apricot and peach are anchored with a hint of amber incense. Made in an off-dry style, the slight sweetness and intense perfume quality of this wine makes for exquisite flavors to pair with a wide range of cuisine.
