Winemaker Jim McMahon Notes

The fruit was harvested in late September, 2008 with 90% from Saralee's vineyard in Russian River and 10% from Sangiacomo vineyard in Carneros, Sonoma Valley. Following a whole cluster press, it was barrel fermented using 25% New and 75% neutral French oak barrels. Only 50% of the wine was put through Malo-lactic fermentation to add richness. The end result was a wine with a complex and juicy mix of honeysuckle, bartlett pear and lemon meringue flavors with hints of nutmeg on the finish.
