Finding Wine Just Got Fun with WheelPlay!
Many of you that attended our presentations throughout Washington, Oregon and California heard of our intentions to further engage the consumer. We're pleased to announce our first installment of greater consumer engagement. WheelPlay is now live in beta form on Here, we use a wheel which the consumer dynamically controls to yield the desired wine result. Speaking of dynamically and in dating myself, at the left is an Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 – ain't she a beauty?

But much like old cars, wines of yesterday are hard to come by and are considered 'classics' but the problem is they are scarce. Going to Winematch ensures you'll not only be able to see the wine's various characteristics, but also be able to put your hands on it, often times with a deal as part of it!

Using WheelPlay is simple, as it should be. You have two choices of how to get there, but the path lead to the same place – a place for presenting new wines and deals to the consumer. The first method is by going to . From there, you can select a wine, click on WheelPlay at the center and let the fun begin! You get taken to the screen where you get to take the wheel for a drive! Or, you can go to and start from scratch. Either way, you're In ultimate control!

As any business must remember, giving the consumer the information and the control is the best way to let them feel they are in control – and believe me, they are. If they don't feel that way, they will leave, likely to never return!
Via We prefer seeing folks go this way, as you start by finding a wine you have had that you may have enjoyed. From there, you can say a little more fruit or a little less acid or not as tannic. The other cool item is that the left menu filters can still apply as well. So you can continue to filter out items like varietals, alcohol content, regions and so forth. Of course, you can filter until you get no results, like Sauvignon Blanc with tannins, for instance probably isn't going to return any values. So some wine knowledge here is always handy. If you lack wine knowledge, not to worry! To get started, you might just be better off sticking to our Great Wines area until you get your feet (and palate) wet!

Using directly. As more of a learning scenario, this acts a great teaching tool as well to allow folks the compare and contrast way . A consumer can shape what his or her wine profile might be, and just keep having fun by seeing what results are returned each time you modify a value. Here again, the left menu provides further filtering capability. In the near future, you will be able to save these custom profiles to be used as a future basis for matching. We think that's pretty cool!

As this is currently in beta, we're taking input here to make it better so feel free to send us feedback to We're actually based in sunny Southern California and looking forward to making this system serve both wineries and consumers like never before!
