Winemaker Ron Bunnell Notes
The RiverAerie Cabernet come from the Northridge Vineyard in the Wahluke Slope. This warm site excels in many grape varieites. Typically, we do not like to work with Cabernet vines lesss than 10 years old, but we find that Northridge is producing a Cabernet with silky tannins and bright black fruit glavors on 8 year old vines. The resulting wine is eminently drinkable now but has a moderate aging potential as well.
Aromas of cassis and plum, soft entry on the palate, with refined tannins and moderate acidity; flavors of pomegranate, cranberry, and cassis; hints of clove and carob.
