Winemaker Mike Brunson Notes
Ah yes, syrah...one of my favorite grape varieties. We grow a few different clonal selections on both ranches here at Michel-Schlumberger. Dry Creek Valley is quickly becoming known for it's Rhone varieties. It appears they grow well here. I can see why. Cool night and a long sunny growing season. Sounds nice to me and the taste of the grapes tells me this Syrah will add to the reputation.

The fruit for this wine gives a big nod to the mountains where it was grown. It displays a distinct acidity that underlies the big black and blue fruit that your nose will not be able to pull away from: plums, blackberries, and fig all make an appearance. It's no secret that I love syrah. Why? Because it may be one of the most versatile carietie ...more... s we grow at Michel-Schlumberger. Consistenr, high-quality fruit grows on the Western Benchlands overlooking Dry Creek Valley. Here is one handcrafted into a wine that showcases our love for distinctive wines of place. Please enjoy it with friends and family.
